Casio V-T500

Casio has recently presented a completely new business support tablet. In addition to being drop-proof and resistant to external influences, the robust tablet PCs promise continuous availability with intelligent energy management, cordless charging and replaceable batteries.

The rugged housing of the Casio tablet, which weighs just 780 grammes, features protection class IP54 (dust and splash-proof) and can be dropped from a height of one metre without being damaged. Casio has designed the electronics of its tablet to withstand temperatures of between –20 and +50°C. The 7000 mAh lithium battery provides up to 12 hours of operation.

The 10.1 inch, high-contrast colour display with LED backlight allows for dual input methods via "Finger Touch" (capacitive touch panel) and "digitizer pen" (electromagnetic). The pen can be used to write signatures across the display.

The guts of the tablet feature 1.5 GHz dual core processors, 1GB RAM and 16 GB ROM, and are supplied with the Android™ 4.0.3 platform operating system. A GPS module, various sensors for acceleration, position, ambient light etc., as well as microphones and speakers. Communication is handled via HDMI, USB, SD/microSD card slots or remotely via Bluetooth® and WLAN (802.11 a, b, g, n) or via 3G technology (UMTS/HSPA).

All in all Casio V-T500 is a very nice and durable tablet. It's main adavantage over the competition is while its truely robust it still remains quite lightweight and slim. The resolution and responsiveness of the 10-inch display is not worse than any other consumer tablet and the storage capacity makes it perfect for Gislet's even largest extracts.
